Pallet Jack Features

The pallet jack is not too different from the pallet truck. Sometimes the pallet jack is even called a pallet truck. At other times, the pallet jack may be referred to as a pump truck. It can be used both for moving and lifting pallets. However, it has wheels on the inner portion of the end of the forks. When the hydraulically powered jack raises up the forks come apart from these wheels to push the load just above the floor. The pallets are then moved wherever they need to go in the warehouse.

The ones that are powered by a motor can move much heavier stacked pallets than the others pallet jacks can. These large pallet jacks will have a stand one which the single operator stands to operate the vehicle via some hand controls. There is a throttle can go forward and backward. Turning is done by swinging the handle in the desired direction of movement. There is also a brake. On the higher-end motorized pallet jack there may be a “deadman’s switch” which stops the pallet jack near instantly wherever it is in case of an emergency or temporary disembarkment.

They are motorized to allow lifting and moving of heavier and stacked pallets. These generally contain a platform for the user to stand while hauling pallets around a warehouse or loading/unloading trucks. The powered pallet jack is generally moved by a throttle on the handle to move forward or in reverse and steered by swinging the handle in the intended direction. Some contain a type of deadman’s switch rather than a brake to stop the machine should the user need to stop quickly or leave the machine while it is in use.
